Aqua Optima Perfect Pour dispenser: capacity, shelf space and replacement filters

Check Perfect Pour dispenser dimensions, 8.2L total capacity, stand clearance, two Evolve+ cartridges, preparation steps and replacement-pair running costs.

An unbranded transparent water dispenser on a stable kitchen counter beside a glass

Perfect Pour dispenser: a stationary gravity system

Aqua Optima’s Perfect Pour dispenser is a large gravity vessel with a dispensing tap, slide refill lid and nested refill jug. It is a different product from the smaller Perfect Pour pouring jugs and from Aqua Optima’s powered hot or chilled appliances. Check that the selected listing is the 8.2-litre dispenser before comparing specifications.

The manufacturer’s 8.2-litre figure is total capacity. Do not treat it as 8.2 litres already filtered below the cartridges. The cited specification does not establish that ready-to-pour figure, so we do not substitute the filtered capacity of another brand’s similarly sized dispenser.

Watch forBudget for pairs and allow stand/refill clearance.

Choose for stationary dispensing after measuring body, stand, refill access and glass clearance; budget for replacement pairs.

This format can suit several people drawing water at one location, provided the tank is easy to refill and clean. It does not provide instant unlimited supply or active chilling on a counter. A larger container changes storage and serving; the treatment and refill routine still need planning.

The defining cartridge detail is that two Evolve+ filters are fitted simultaneously. The two cartridges supplied in the linked starter bundle form one operating pair, rather than one cartridge to use now and a spare for the following month.

Measure usable shelf depth and width with the door closed, then check the tap projection and access for a glass. A vessel fitting inside a fridge is not necessarily convenient to dispense from there. Avoid arrangements that require balancing the tank partly off a shelf or pulling it forward for every pour.

The stand raises the tap for counter use but adds substantial height. Check overhead cupboards and the ability to slide the lid and refill without obstruction. Use a stable, supported surface and the manufacturer’s stand arrangement; an improvised narrow riser is not a substitute.

Water contributes roughly one kilogram per litre before the tank and fittings. Plan for load and handling, following the fridge shelf’s own instructions. The dispenser manual tells users to empty the tank before moving it into or out of the fridge. Do not treat the full total-capacity label as a recommended carrying load.

Replacement filters: count pairs and avoid doubling a rating

The unit uses two Evolve+ cartridges together. A six-pack therefore makes three complete replacement pairs. A single-cartridge jug’s “six-month supply” description should not be copied onto a six-pack used in this dispenser. The operating arrangement is different.

For a PerfectFit BRITA jug, check the compatibility key is included and follow Aqua Optima’s fit guidance. Do not assume any oval cartridge will work.

Divide the delivered six-pack price by three to get cost per pair. If the four-week time limit controls use, annualised demand is about 365 ÷ 28 = 13.04 pairs, or 26.07 individual cartridge-equivalents. Whole-pack purchases and an included starter pair affect cash spending; earlier volume-driven changes increase demand.

The dispenser manual states replacement after 200 litres or four weeks, while Aqua Optima’s current Evolve+ cartridge page specifies 100 litres / 30 days for each cartridge. The manual does not establish a combined 400-litre rating for the paired system. Do not add ratings or ignore the lower cartridge instruction. Use the earlier applicable time limit of four weeks, and confirm the paired-system volume limit with Aqua Optima before planning higher usage.

Our running-cost calculator can model a pair by entering the pair price as the pack price and 1 in “Cartridges in the pack”. In that scenario its cartridge outputs represent pairs. Until the paired-system rating is confirmed, a conservative illustration uses 100 litres for the complete pair, not a claimed manufacturer system capacity. At two litres a day that still leaves the four-week time limit first. Do not enter the pair price with a count of two, which would incorrectly halve the cost of each replacement event.

If you are changing from another jug, read the Evolve+ compatibility guide. Advice about fitting Evolve+ into a different jug is not a reason to use an unrelated cartridge in this dispenser. Match the stated replacement family and exact current pack.

First use: prepare both cartridges and discard the first fills

The following sequence summarises the dispenser manual. Keep its illustrated instructions alongside you for the tap, hopper, sliding funnel and lid alignment. Use potable tap water only; this is not a routine for making an unknown or microbiologically unsafe supply drinkable.

  1. Unpack the components and remove packaging. Wash the body, hopper and sliding funnel as directed, and wipe the lid with a clean damp cloth.
  2. Assemble the tap securely in the lower opening and seat the hopper and sliding components according to the illustrations. Check the lid tabs align correctly.
  3. Prepare both new Evolve+ cartridges. The manual specifies soaking for 5–10 minutes and rinsing for one minute before fitting.
  4. Fit the two cartridges to the underside of the hopper, turning clockwise to secure them as instructed. Do not operate with one position empty.
  5. Fill the hopper and let the water filter through. Discard the first two filtered hopper fills; the third is ready for use according to the manual.

Check for leaks and correct assembly without moving a full tank around. If a connection does not seat as shown, stop and consult the instructions instead of applying force. Keep the initial preparation separate from ordinary top-ups: a newly fitted pair needs its own full preparation routine.

Cleaning, refilling and choosing this format

The nested refill jug allows you to bring water to the stationary dispenser. Use the slide lid and keep refill access clear. Do not overfill or assume that a larger upper hopper removes the need to wait for filtration before a busy serving period.

Follow the component-specific manual for washing. The body, hopper and sliding funnel require regular cleaning; the lid is wiped with a damp cloth. A broad “dishwasher-safe parts” claim is not permission to wash every assembled component by the same method. Avoid abrasive, solvent or corrosive cleaners and follow the tap-removal instructions when cleaning it.

Keep the dispenser cool and away from direct sunlight and heat, using cold or room-temperature water within the instructions. A worktop position does not chill the water. For a break in use, follow the manual’s filter storage and restart directions; a holiday does not automatically renew a partly used cartridge’s service life.

Choose Perfect Pour when stationary serving, the measured footprint and the two-filter budget suit your household. If the space or replacement-pair commitment feels excessive, compare a large pouring jug or BRITA Flow with its own capacity and single-cartridge routine.

For active cooling rather than ambient storage, see the Lumi chiller guide. For heated and chilled portions, compare the exact Aurora version.

Common questions

Is all 8.2 litres filtered and ready to dispense?

No such filtered-capacity figure is established by the cited specification. Treat 8.2 litres as total capacity, including the upper hopper, rather than promising that volume ready at the tap.

How many filters does Perfect Pour use?

Two Evolve+ cartridges are fitted together. A six-pack therefore supplies three complete replacement pairs; the two included in the linked starter listing make one initial pair.

How tall is it on the stand?

Aqua Optima specifies 407mm high with the stand, compared with a 272mm-high body. Also allow room to refill and to place a glass beneath the tap.

Does using two filters make the capacity 400 litres?

Do not assume that. The manual mentions 200 litres / four weeks, while the current cartridge page states 100 litres / 30 days per cartridge. Do not add ratings. Use the earlier applicable limit and ask Aqua Optima to confirm the paired-system volume rating.

Does it chill water on a worktop?

No. This is a gravity dispenser, not an electric chiller. Refrigeration requires a suitable fridge position and appropriate safe handling.
