Marella vs Style: specify the Style version first

“Style” can refer to different versions and sizes. This comparison is specifically Marella Cool 2.4L against Style eco Cool 2.4L. It does not assign Style eco’s dimensions or indicator to every Style Essential, XL or older Style listing. The selected model and capacity must stay attached to the specification you use.

Both models here state 1.4 litres filtered within 2.4 litres total. If you are hoping that a change from Marella to Style will solve a small reservoir, this particular switch does not give you more ready-to-pour water. Their differences concern outline, reminder and everyday details rather than nominal filtered capacity.

The comparison uses published specifications, indicator functions and care guidance. A retailer photo can help identify the selected version, but it should not replace the exact model’s dimensions or instructions.

Which shape works better in your fridge?

Style eco is 1.9cm narrower and 1.5cm taller than Marella Cool on the published figures. Both are 10.5cm deep. That can make Style attractive where width is restricted, while Marella may be easier to accommodate below a low shelf. The shared depth does not guarantee they fit the same compartment.

Measure the clear width and height, the retaining rail and the room needed to get a hand around the handle. A jug that just rests inside a shelf may still be difficult to lift out without tilting. Consider filling as well as storage. A tall kitchen tap opening and an uncluttered sink can make a flip-top lid convenient, but the actual grip and pouring effort remain personal. A different silhouette is not proof that a full jug will be comfortable for a particular user.

Choose the replacement reminder you will notice

Marella’s Memo uses bars to remind you of a cartridge change over its time-based cycle. Style eco’s Smart Light uses a traffic-light display. The useful buying question is which reminder you will notice and maintain correctly, rather than which makes the water inherently better.

Neither display should be treated as a direct test proving that the filtered water is free from every unwanted substance. A reminder does not override a cartridge’s litre limit, a shorter instruction or a problem with the water supply. Follow the instructions for installing and resetting the actual indicator after fitting a fresh cartridge.

Smart Light is part of the Style eco design, but its presence does not change the MAXTRA PRO cartridge into a different treatment family. Likewise, resetting Memo’s bars without replacing an exhausted cartridge does not restore the media. Keep the maintenance task and the display reset connected.

If you prefer a simple regular reminder, Marella may be sufficient. If a visible colour prompt is more useful in your kitchen, Style eco may justify the difference in purchase price.

Cleaning exclusions differ between these two models

BRITA excludes the Marella lid from dishwasher cleaning. For Style eco, its guidance excludes Smart Light. Follow the current instructions for removing the indicator and washing the remaining components rather than applying one model’s exclusion to the other.

A recurring washing routine matters for either jug. The reservoir, funnel, lid and pouring area still need care even when the cartridge is changed on time. Refrigeration and a working reminder are not substitutes for cleaning. Keep the electrical or indicator parts out of cleaning methods prohibited by their instructions.

Style eco includes a manufacturer bio-based material claim, but that does not establish that the whole jug is biodegradable or can be disposed of as food waste. For this purchase comparison, the concrete considerations are the model’s construction, usable shape, replacement support and care routine. Avoid turning a material marketing term into an unsupported whole-product environmental conclusion.

Compare the actual bundles and future cartridges

The linked Marella bundle lists three Pure Performance cartridges. The Style eco listing names one MAXTRA PRO All-in-1 cartridge. Current manufacturer naming and retailer pack wording can differ, so check the exact contents of the selected bundle rather than assuming every box contains the same refill supply.

The stated MAXTRA PRO maximum of 150 litres or four weeks is not extended by choosing Smart Light instead of Memo. At the same household consumption and refill type, the recurring cartridge requirement should be assessed from those limits, not the jug’s styling. Any shorter instruction still applies.

Compare current delivered bundle prices, count the included refills and then use the running-cost calculator for later purchases. Keep the vessel outlay separate from recurring costs. Choose Marella when its size and simpler reminder meet your needs; choose Style eco when its narrower, taller shape and Smart Light suit your kitchen well enough to justify the current price difference.
